Glossary / Deployment
What is deployment?
Deployment is the step of putting a version of your app live on a server so real users can reach it. Each time you change the app and publish again, you deploy a new version.
While you build, the app runs in a preview only you can see. Deploying copies the current version to hosting, runs it, and points the public address at it.
A careful deployment checks the new version starts correctly before sending users to it, so a broken build does not take the live app down. It also applies any database changes the new version needs.
Good habits are testing in a preview or staging copy first, deploying small changes often rather than big ones rarely, and keeping a way to roll back to the last good version.
In Mythex, deploying is the Publish button: it puts your app live at a URL and keeps it running.
Questions
What is the difference between deploying and publishing?
They mean the same thing in most app builders: making the current version live. Developers tend to say deploy; builders often call the button Publish.
Why does my app work in preview but not after deploying?
Common causes are missing environment variables or secrets in the live setup, database changes that did not run, or a path that only exists locally. Check the live app's logs first.
