Softr Alternatives: 8 Options Compared for 2026
Eight Softr alternatives compared: Mythex, Noloco, Glide, Zite, Bubble, WeWeb, Budibase and Airtable, with October 2026 pricing and when each is better.

The best Softr alternatives are Noloco if you want a similar no-code portal builder with record- and field-level permissions, Glide if your data is in a spreadsheet and your users are on phones, Bubble or WeWeb if you have outgrown blocks and need more control over design and logic, and Budibase if you want to self-host with unlimited users. If you would rather describe the app than assemble it, Mythex builds a custom app with its own database, file storage and hosting from a chat, and Zite builds AI-generated apps with unlimited users on every plan. Softr itself is still one of the easiest ways to put a portal on Airtable; switch for a clear reason.
Below is why people look elsewhere, a quick table, and a section on each alternative with pricing as of October 2026.
Why people look for Softr alternatives
Softr builds client portals, internal tools and business apps from blocks and templates, on its own Softr Databases or on Airtable, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Notion, Salesforce and other sources, and it now has an AI co-builder. As of October 2026 its plans start with Free (up to 3 builders, 5 app users), then Basic listed at $19/month, Pro at $99/month and Business at $329/month (Softr pricing). The usual reasons to look elsewhere:
- The block ceiling. Softr is quick for structured screens. Unusual layouts, multi-step logic or custom calculations are harder.
- User pricing. Plans include a fixed number of builders and app users, and extra users cost more on Pro and above. A portal with many clients can climb tiers quickly.
- Features gated to higher plans. Removing Softr branding, Google sign-in for app users and granular permissions start on Pro; two-factor sign-in and domain-restricted sign-up on Business.
- Ownership. Softr apps run on Softr. There's no codebase to export if you outgrow it.
- Self-hosting. Softr is cloud-only.

1. Mythex: best for custom apps built by chatting, with the database and hosting included
What it is. Mythex (that's us) is an AI app builder made in Dubai, UAE. Instead of placing blocks, you describe the portal or tool in chat, in English, Arabic or more than 60 other languages. It writes the code (React, TypeScript and Tailwind by default), runs a live preview in a private cloud workspace with a code editor and terminal, adds a Postgres database and file storage when needed, and publishes to a URL or your own domain.
What it's good at. Everything the block ceiling makes hard: your own layout, multi-step logic, custom calculations and screens that no template has. Airtable and Google Sheets are one-click connectors the agent can read and write, so you can start from data you already have. Arabic, right-to-left and bilingual Arabic/English apps are a strength. On Pro you can export the code or sync it to GitHub, and on Business you can publish members-only apps that only your workspace can open, with roles, Google Workspace SSO and required two-factor sign-in. There are no per-seat fees.
Limits. Mythex is not a drop-in Softr replacement. There's no block catalogue or live data binding: it builds an app around your data rather than rendering your Airtable base directly. Login for clients or other outside users is bring-your-own (how), and you check the permission rules yourself. If you only need a thin interface on a spreadsheet, Softr or Glide will be cheaper and quicker.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free gives 5 credits a day (up to 30 a month), with publishing included. Pro is $25/month or $250/year. Business starts at $50/month and Enterprise at $680/month. See pricing.
Who should pick it. Teams that have hit Softr's limits and want a custom app they own, and anyone who needs an Arabic or bilingual portal. The Mythex vs Softr page compares the two directly, and the agency client portal and internal admin tool templates are good starting points.
2. Noloco: best for the closest like-for-like portal builder
What it is. Noloco is a no-code platform for client portals, internal tools and business apps built on your existing data: Noloco Tables, Airtable, Google Sheets, Postgres, Supabase, HubSpot, MySQL and others on the paid plan.
What it's good at. If you like Softr's approach but want stricter control over who sees what, Noloco's Build plan includes record- and field-level permissions and unlimited user roles. It includes 10 builders and 1,000 active clients on Build, which can work out cheaper than per-user add-ons for a large client base.
Limits. The Free plan is small (2,000 records, 50 active clients) and shows a "Powered by Noloco" label. Records, workflow runs and extra seats are metered on Build, and SSO, audit logs and full white-label are on Enterprise. No code export.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free; Build $65/month billed annually or $79 monthly; Enterprise custom. See Noloco pricing.
Who should pick it. Softr users who want the same no-code model with finer permissions and room for more clients.
3. Glide: best for spreadsheet apps for frontline teams
What it is. Glide turns the Excel files and Google Sheets a team already uses into apps and AI agents, with Airtable, Google Drive and many business tools available through integrations. Its current platform, GlideOS, is separate from the original Glide (now Glide Classic).
What it's good at. Internal apps used on phones: inspections, inventory, scheduling. Apps are private to the company by default, and the Pro plan lets you build with your own agent over MCP.
Limits. Glide is aimed at internal teams more than outside clients. Plans cap team members and published apps (none on Free, two on Basic), and as of October 2026 annual plans are listed as "coming soon."
Pricing as of October 2026. Free, Basic $25/month, Plus $50/month and Pro from $125/month; Enterprise custom. See Glide pricing.
Who should pick it. Teams whose work runs on a spreadsheet and whose users are in the field. Our Softr vs Glide guide compares the two in depth.
4. Zite: best for AI-built apps with unlimited users
What it is. Zite is an AI app builder for teams. You describe an app and it builds it on Zite's own database, with workflows and user login.
What it's good at. As of October 2026, every Zite plan includes unlimited users and unlimited apps, which removes the user-count worry that pushes many Softr customers up a tier.
Limits. Database records are capped (5,000 on Free, 100,000 on Pro, 250,000 on Business), as are workflow runs and storage. Its pricing page lists code editing but doesn't clearly describe exporting a codebase, and SSO for app users is on Enterprise.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free (50 AI credits a month), Pro $20/month billed annually with one custom domain, Business $75/month billed annually. See Zite pricing.
Who should pick it. Teams with many users and modest data that want AI to build the app.
5. Bubble: best for full visual programming, on web and native mobile
What it is. Bubble is a long-established no-code platform with a visual editor for pages, data and workflows, now paired with AI prompting. It builds web apps and native iOS and Android apps, with hosting included.
What it's good at. Far more control over logic and data than a block builder, without writing code. If you need a full product with custom workflows, privacy rules and a mobile app, Bubble can do it on one platform.
Limits. The learning curve is real; Bubble is closer to programming visually than to filling in templates. Usage is metered in workload units. Bubble's own documentation says apps can only run on Bubble and can't be exported as code.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free for building and testing; Starter $59/month, Growth $209/month and Team $549/month, all billed annually; Enterprise custom. See Bubble pricing.
Who should pick it. People who have outgrown blocks, never want to see code, and are willing to learn a visual programming model. More: Bubble alternatives and Mythex vs Bubble.
6. WeWeb: best for visual front ends with code export
What it is. WeWeb is a visual builder for web app front ends, with AI building, that connects to the backend of your choice. Its own WeWeb Cloud hosting, priced per app, adds a database, authentication, storage and backend functions.
What it's good at. Pixel-level design control in a visual editor, plus a clear exit: as of October 2026, WeWeb says you can export your app's front-end and backend code from the Essential plan and deploy it wherever you like.
Limits. It is more of a professional tool than Softr, aimed at developers and agencies. Pricing combines a builder plan with per-app hosting, so a live app with a database and your own domain costs more than the plan alone (WeWeb's own example is $40/month billed annually).
Pricing as of October 2026. Free for personal projects; Essential $20/month billed annually; Pro from $50 per developer per month; Partner from $79 per developer per month; WeWeb Cloud hosting from $13 per app per month. See WeWeb pricing.
Who should pick it. Agencies and technical builders who want visual design control and the option to take the code with them. More: Mythex vs WeWeb.
7. Budibase: best for self-hosted tools with unlimited users
What it is. Budibase is an open-source platform for internal tools, forms, automations and AI agents, available as a cloud service or self-hosted.
What it's good at. As of October 2026, its self-hosted open-source edition includes unlimited apps, automations, agents and users, plus SSO. If Softr's user pricing is the problem and you can run a server, that's hard to beat.
Limits. You run and maintain the server yourself. It's aimed at internal tools more than polished client portals. On the cloud plans, end users are an add-on, and enterprise features such as enforced SSO, SCIM and audit logs are on paid Enterprise.
Pricing as of October 2026. Self-hosted open source is free. Cloud Pro is $19/month, Premium $49/month and Business $299/month, with end users at $5 per user per month on yearly billing. See Budibase pricing.
Who should pick it. IT and ops teams with many internal users and a place to host.
8. Airtable Interfaces: best for keeping everything inside Airtable
What it is. If your Softr app sits on Airtable, Airtable's own interface designer lets you build dashboards, forms and record views directly on your bases, without a second product.
What it's good at. One less tool and one less bill for teams whose users already have Airtable seats. Data, permissions and interfaces live in the same place.
Limits. Interfaces are designed mainly for collaborators on your Airtable bases, so check Airtable's sharing options before relying on them for outside clients. Airtable is priced per user, so it suits small internal teams more than large audiences.
Pricing as of October 2026. Airtable has a free plan; Team is $20 per user per month and Business $45 per user per month, both billed annually. See Airtable pricing.
Who should pick it. Small internal teams already on Airtable who used Softr only for internal screens. See also Airtable alternatives.
How to move off Softr
Leaving Softr is mostly about two things: your data and your users.
Data. If your records live in Airtable, Google Sheets or another external source, they stay where they are and the new tool connects to them. If they live in Softr Databases, export them first and import them into the new tool's database, or into Airtable or Sheets as a neutral middle step. Check that linked records and attachments come across, not just plain fields.
Users. Your app users will need new accounts or a new sign-in method. Plan the switch so nobody is locked out: run the old and new apps side by side for a short period, send one clear email with the new link, and keep the old app read-only until everyone has moved.
Rules. Write down every visibility rule in your Softr app before you start, such as "clients see only their own projects" or "managers see their team's requests." Rebuild those first and test each one as a real user would, not as an admin. Most migration problems are permission problems.
Links. If your portal uses a custom domain, point it at the new app only after the new one is tested. How to connect a custom domain explains the DNS side.
How we compared
This is a comparison of publicly stated features and pricing, not a benchmark. In October 2026 we read each vendor's own pricing page and documentation and compared the tools on the things that usually push people away from Softr:
- Design and logic ceiling — blocks, a full visual editor, or code
- Data — whether it connects to Airtable and Sheets, has its own database, or both
- Users and permissions — how outside users are counted and controlled
- Ownership — cloud only, self-hosted, or exportable code
- Pricing model — per user, per builder, per app, flat plan, or AI credits
We did not run timed builds or score output quality. Where a pricing page was unclear about monthly versus annual prices, we said so. Mythex is our product; we have tried to describe its limits as plainly as everyone else's.
Which one should you choose?
- You like Softr but need finer permissions or more clients. Noloco.
- Your app is for your own team, on phones, from a spreadsheet. Glide.
- Too many users for your Softr plan. Zite, Budibase self-hosted, or Mythex (no per-seat fees).
- You need complex logic or a native mobile app, without code. Bubble.
- You want visual design control and the option to export. WeWeb.
- Data must stay on your own servers. Budibase.
- Your users already live in Airtable. Airtable Interfaces.
- You want a custom app you own, described in plain words, or an Arabic or bilingual portal. Mythex.
Before you migrate, list the three screens your users open most and the permission rule that matters most (usually "each client sees only their own records"). Rebuild just those on your shortlist and test the rule by logging in as a test user. If you're moving a portal, how to build a client portal covers what to check; for internal tools, see how to build an internal tool.

Questions
What is the best alternative to Softr?
It depends on why you are leaving. Noloco is the closest like-for-like option for portals on existing data. Glide suits spreadsheet-based apps for phone users. Bubble and WeWeb give more design and logic control. An AI app builder such as Mythex or Zite suits people who want to describe a custom app instead of assembling blocks.
Is there a free alternative to Softr?
Most alternatives have a free plan with limits as of October 2026, including Noloco, Glide, Zite, Bubble, WeWeb, Airtable and Mythex. Budibase's self-hosted open-source edition is free with unlimited users and apps, if you can run your own server.
Is there a Softr alternative that lets me export the code?
Yes. As of October 2026, WeWeb lets you export your app's front-end and backend code from its Essential plan, and Mythex lets you export the code or sync it to GitHub on Pro. Softr, Noloco, Glide and Bubble apps stay on their platforms.
Can I keep my Airtable data if I leave Softr?
Yes. If your data lives in Airtable or Google Sheets rather than Softr Databases, it stays where it is. Noloco, Glide and WeWeb can connect to Airtable or Sheets directly, and Mythex has one-click connectors for both that its agent can read and write.
