The best Typeform alternatives compared: Tally, Fillout, Jotform, Google Forms, Microsoft Forms and SurveyMonkey. Response limits, pricing and who each suits.

The best Typeform alternatives are Tally for a generous free plan, Fillout for high response limits and unlimited seats, Jotform for business forms with payment and upload allowances, Google Forms or Microsoft Forms for quick internal forms if you already have the account, and SurveyMonkey for research-style surveys. Typeform is still one of the most polished form experiences, with AI-assisted form creation, logic, webhooks and integrations on every paid plan. The usual reason to switch is price per response.
Prices below are in US dollars as shown on each vendor's site as of September 2026. Some vendors show local currencies in other countries.
What Typeform offers today
Typeform builds conversational forms, surveys and quizzes. As of September 2026 its pricing page lists:
| Plan | Monthly billing | Yearly billing (per month) | Responses a month | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | A limited number | 1 |
| Basic | $39 | $28 | 100 | 1 |
| Plus | $79 | $56 | 1,000 | 3 |
| Business | $129 | $91 | 10,000 | 5 |
Every paid plan includes unlimited forms, AI-powered form creation, conditional logic, webhooks and integrations. Removing Typeform branding starts on Plus. Business adds drop-off rates and conversion tracking. There are also Growth Flow, Talent and Enterprise plans for marketing, HR and larger teams. When we checked, the plan comparison table lower on the same page showed different figures, so confirm the price at checkout.
Why people look for Typeform alternatives
- Response limits. 100 responses a month on Basic runs out quickly for a lead form or event sign-up.
- Branding. Removing the Typeform logo needs Plus or higher.
- Seats. Collaborators count against a small seat allowance.
- Feature fit. Some teams need approval workflows, PDFs or heavy payment forms more than a beautiful one-question-at-a-time layout.

Tally: the generous free plan
Tally is a form builder with an unusually generous free plan. Its pricing page says you get unlimited forms and submissions for free, as long as you stay within its fair-use guidelines.
- Free (as of September 2026): payments, signatures, file uploads, conditional logic and calculations, answer piping, password protection, custom thank-you pages, 45+ languages, and integrations with Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable, Zapier, Make and webhooks.
- Pro: $24 a month on monthly billing, with two months off on yearly billing. Adds branding removal, custom domains, unlimited team collaboration, partial submissions, custom CSS, analytics and version history.
- Business: $74 a month on monthly billing. Adds data-retention controls, email verification and longer version history.
- Pick it if you want most of what Typeform does without paying per response. Tally says it is made and hosted in the EU, which some teams will value.
Fillout: high limits and unlimited seats
Fillout is a form builder whose plans all include unlimited forms and seats, PDF generation and its own workflows feature.
- Pricing (as of September 2026, billed yearly): Free ($0, unlimited forms and seats, 1,000 responses a month, logic, payments, scheduling, file uploads and PDF generation). Starter $15/month (2,000 responses, all question types, login forms). Pro $40/month (5,000 responses, remove all branding, custom fonts and CSS). Business $75/month (unlimited responses, custom domain, analytics, partial submissions, custom code). Monthly billing costs more.
- Strengths: no per-seat charges on any plan; a high response allowance on the free plan.
- Pick it if your team shares forms widely and you want to stop counting seats.
Jotform: for business forms and payments
Jotform is a form builder whose plans are set by active forms, monthly submissions, upload space and payment submissions.
- Pricing (as of September 2026): Starter free (5 forms, 100 submissions a month, 100 MB of uploads, 10 payment submissions). Bronze $39 a month or $408 a year (25 forms, 1,000 submissions). Silver $49 a month or $468 a year (50 forms, 2,500 submissions). Gold $129 a month or $1,188 a year (100 forms, 10,000 submissions). Enterprise is custom.
- Strengths: clear, predictable limits; payment submissions and upload space scale with each plan.
- Limits: the free plan caps active forms at five and payment submissions at ten a month.
- Pick it if forms are an everyday operational tool for your business and you want to know exactly what each plan allows.
Google Forms and Microsoft Forms: the ones you may already have
Google Forms and Microsoft Forms are the simplest route when you already use Google or Microsoft.
- Google Forms (as of September 2026): multiple question types, logic based on previous answers, quizzes, templates, brand colours and fonts, real-time charts, and export to Google Sheets. File-upload questions need respondents to sign in to a Google account, according to Google's help centre.
- Microsoft Forms: Microsoft's support site says it's available with a personal Microsoft account (Outlook.com, Hotmail or Live) as well as Microsoft 365 Apps for business and Office 365 Education. It covers surveys, quizzes and polls, branching, real-time results and export to Excel.
- Pick them if you need an internal survey or a quick sign-up form and the design matters less than speed. Our Google Forms alternatives guide covers when you'll outgrow them.
SurveyMonkey: for surveys and research
SurveyMonkey is built for surveys rather than lead forms. As of September 2026 it has a free Basic plan, individual plans and Team plans (Team Advantage and Team Premier, minimum three users, billed yearly) with yearly response allowances, AI analysis and features like advanced logic and multilingual surveys on higher tiers. Prices were shown in local currency for us, so check the page in your country.
- Pick it if you run customer or employee research and care about analysis more than form design.
When to build the form into your own app
A form is often the first step of a longer process: job applications that need reviewing, supplier onboarding with approvals, or intake that turns into a client record. Form tools handle this with integrations and add-ons; sometimes a small custom app is simpler.
Mythex is an AI app builder. You describe what you want in chat ("an application form, a review queue for my team, and a status page for applicants"), an agent writes the code and shows a live preview, and you publish it. Answers are saved to a Postgres database the app owns, so there's no per-response pricing from a form vendor, though hosting and the database use credits from the same balance as building. Mythex has no built-in email sending, login for your end users or payments: the agent connects your own providers. For a single contact or lead form, a form tool is quicker. See how to build a form builder, how to build a survey app and how to add a contact form. The CRUD app recipe shows the basic pattern.

How we compared
We compared the publicly stated features, limits and prices on each vendor's own website, pricing page and help centre as of September 2026. We did not do hands-on testing, and we left out anything we couldn't confirm on the vendor's own pages. Where a vendor showed prices in local currency (SurveyMonkey), we described plans without quoting numbers. Mythex facts come from our product documentation. Check each pricing page before you buy.
Questions
What is the best free alternative to Typeform?
Tally is the strongest free option we found: its free plan includes unlimited forms and submissions within fair use, plus logic, payments and file uploads. Fillout's free plan is also generous, with unlimited forms and seats and 1,000 responses a month.
Is there a Typeform alternative with the same one-question-at-a-time style?
Several builders offer a conversational or multi-page layout, but the exact look differs by tool. Try the free plans of Tally, Fillout and Jotform with one of your own forms before you switch.
Why is Typeform so expensive?
Typeform prices by monthly responses and seats. As of September 2026, its Basic plan includes 100 responses a month for one user, so costs rise as volume grows. Tools like Tally and Fillout set their response limits much higher at lower prices.
Can I build my own form or survey tool?
Yes. A form that saves answers to a database and shows them in an admin list is a small web app you can build with an AI app builder. It makes the most sense when the form is part of a bigger workflow, such as applications that then need review and approval.
