Bubble and Webflow are both visual, no-code tools, but they build different things. Webflow is a website builder: the best fit for marketing sites, blogs and content where design control matters. Bubble is an app builder: user accounts, a database, workflows and, as of 2026, native mobile apps. If your project is mostly pages people read, choose Webflow. If it's mostly things people do after logging in, choose Bubble. As of September 2026 Webflow site plans start at $15 a month billed yearly, and Bubble's first live-app plan is $59 a month billed annually.

Bubble
What it builds. Bubble is a visual, no-code builder for web apps. You design pages, define your data and wire up workflows — "when this button is clicked, create a booking and email the owner" — without writing code. Bubble says you can also build true native iOS and Android apps from the same editor, with a shared backend, and publish directly to the App Store and Google Play.
AI. Bubble AI generates a full app from a description, and Bubble stresses that it produces an app you can understand and edit visually rather than code. An Agent can add features, troubleshoot, or explain how your app works, showing what it built step by step.
Ownership. Bubble's manual is clear: Bubble apps can only run on the Bubble platform, and there's no way to export an app as code. You can export your data as CSV files or read it through Bubble's API. Bubble also says that if it ever shut down, its source code would be released under an open-source license so apps could be self-hosted.
Pricing as of September 2026. Plans are measured partly in workload units, Bubble's measure of the server work your app does.

Watch for. Workload units are the variable to monitor as your app grows, and the no-export policy means leaving Bubble means rebuilding.
Webflow
What it builds. Webflow is a visual website builder aimed at designers and marketing teams, where you design layout and interactions visually. Webflow CMS handles structured content such as blog posts, case studies or team members. Webflow also offers Webflow Cloud for hosting web apps, with its own request, CPU and database limits, and ecommerce plans for online stores.
AI. Webflow calls itself an AI-native platform. Workspace plans include monthly AI credits for Webflow AI features (200 on the free Workspace plan, more on paid plans), and every site plan lists an MCP server so AI tools can work with your site.
Ownership. On paid Workspace plans you can export clean HTML and CSS for your developers. Webflow notes that dynamic CMS content can't be exported this way.
Pricing as of September 2026. Webflow separates Site plans (per site, for hosting) from Workspace plans (for your team). Yearly billing saves up to 40%.

Watch for. You may pay for both a Site plan and a Workspace plan, and bandwidth is tiered, so check both before you budget.

Where each is clearly stronger:
- Webflow wins on design control, content publishing and cost for a website.
- Bubble wins on application logic, user data and mobile apps, without code.
Some teams use both: Webflow for the marketing site, Bubble for the app behind the "Log in" button.
Where AI app builders fit
A newer option for the Bubble side of this choice is an AI app builder, where you describe the app in plain language and an agent writes real code. The trade-off is different from no-code: you don't learn a visual editor, and you get source code you can take elsewhere, but you review changes through a preview rather than dragging elements. Before you choose
- Write down the three things users must do. If they are "read, browse, contact us", lean Webflow. If they are "sign up, save, manage", lean Bubble.
- Price a year, not a month. Both tools' headline prices are for annual billing.
- Decide how much lock-in you accept. Webflow exports HTML and CSS; Bubble exports data but not the app.
