How we compared
We compared the plans, limits and prices published on each company's own pricing and features pages in October 2026, in US dollars. Todoist shows prices in several currencies; TickTick lists a US dollar annual price. We did not run timed tests. Where a page lists a feature without a number, we say so rather than guess. Both companies change limits from time to time, so check the pricing pages before you pay.
Pricing in detail
Todoist
Todoist has three plans, per its pricing page and plans help article:
- Beginner (free): 5 personal projects, task reminders, list and board layouts, 3 filter views, 1 week of activity history, 5 MB uploads and limited Ramble sessions.
- Pro: $5/month billed yearly ($60) or $7 month to month, with a 7-day free trial. Adds 300 personal projects, a calendar layout, task duration, custom reminders, deadlines, 150 filter views, full history, Task Assist and unlimited Ramble.
- Business: $8 per user/month billed yearly ($96) or $10 month to month, with a 14-day trial. Adds a shared team workspace with up to 500 team projects, up to 250 people per team project, 1,000 team members and guests, roles and permissions, shared templates and central billing.
Todoist says yearly plans are refundable within 30 days; monthly plans aren't.
TickTick
TickTick keeps it simple, per its upgrade page:
- Free: 9 lists, 99 tasks and notes per list, 19 checklist items per task, 2 reminders per task, 2 members, 5 habits, 5 countdowns, 1 attachment a day, and basic calendar, matrix, widgets, themes and statistics.
- Premium: $49.99 a year. 299 lists, 999 tasks per list, 199 checklist items per task, 5 reminders per task, 29 members, 299 habits, 199 attachments a day, and unlimited calendar views, matrix, widgets, themes and statistics.
TickTick says purchases through Google Play, PayPal or Stripe can be refunded within 14 days, and your data is kept if Premium expires.
Cost over a year: Todoist Pro is $60; TickTick Premium is $49.99. For one person the difference is small. For a team, Todoist Business is per user, while TickTick doesn't list a team plan.
Where TickTick wins
More tools in one app. TickTick's features page lists a Pomodoro timer, a habit tracker with statistics, an Eisenhower Matrix and calendar views from yearly down to multi-day and agenda. If you would otherwise pay for a calendar planner, a habit app and a focus timer, TickTick replaces three apps.
A bigger free plan for lists. Nine lists with 99 tasks each is enough for many people to never upgrade. Todoist's free plan stops at five projects, which you feel quickly if you use one project per area of life.
Calendar-first planning. If you plan by dragging tasks onto time slots, TickTick's calendar views are central to the app rather than an add-on layout.
Where Todoist wins
Teams. Todoist Business gives you a proper shared workspace: team projects, folders, roles and permissions, granular activity logs and up to 1,000 members and guests. TickTick's sharing tops out at 29 members per its Premium limits and has no team billing listed. If your to-do list is shared with colleagues, Todoist is the safer choice. For heavier project management, though, compare dedicated tools in our Trello vs Asana and Asana vs Monday guides.
Filters and structure. Todoist's saved filters (150 on Pro) let you build views like "everything due this week tagged @calls in Work projects". Labels, priorities, sub-tasks and recurring due dates are on every plan.
Integrations and AI. Todoist lists 90+ integrations, a developer API, Task Assist (breaking tasks into steps), Filter Assist, Email Assist and Ramble, a voice feature for turning spoken thoughts into tasks. Todoist also states it is SOC 2 Type II certified, which matters if your company's security team reviews the tools you use.
Simplicity. Todoist does fewer things and stays out of the way. Some people find TickTick's extra tabs (habits, focus, matrix) distracting; others love them. Try both for a week.

| A shared to-do list for a team or small company | Todoist Business |

When a to-do app isn't enough
Sometimes the list you keep in Todoist or TickTick is really a business process: client onboarding steps, equipment checks, orders to prepare. These apps can hold the tasks, but they can't hold your own data fields, customer records or a form clients fill in.
That's where a small custom app can fit. With Mythex you describe the tool in chat, see it in a live preview, and publish it to a URL in one click; it can include a database and logins when the app needs them, and the Free plan gives 5 credits a day. Our guides on building a task management app and building a habit tracker show what that looks like. For a personal to-do list, though, Todoist or TickTick is the better pick: they're polished, ready today, and cheap.
Verdict
TickTick is the better value for individuals who want an all-in-one planner with a calendar, habits and a Pomodoro timer. Todoist is the better choice if you want a fast, focused task list, strong filters and integrations, or a to-do system shared across a team. Both free plans are good enough to test properly, so move one real week of tasks into each before you pay.
