Fitment is the store

A motorcycle parts store without fitment data is a catalogue riders do not trust. Store fitment as its own list on each part: make, model and year range, sometimes engine size or variant. The bike filter then reads that list. When a part fits several models, it is one product with several fitment rows, not several products. Ask for a 'my bike' setting that remembers the rider's machine so the next visit starts filtered.

What to list first

Do not try to upload the whole distributor catalogue. Start with the few hundred lines you sell every week, oil by grade, filters, pads, chain and sprocket kits, plugs and tyres in common sizes, and get their fitment right. Gear comes next, with the brand's own size chart. Add more parts once riders are using it, and use the order history to see what they search for and cannot find.

Stock, special orders and the workshop

A part showing 'in stock' that is actually on the shelf for Thursday's service is the fastest way to annoy two riders at once. Keep stock reserved for workshop jobs out of the sellable count. Items you order in from a distributor should say 'special order, 3 to 5 days' and take a deposit, not pretend to be on the shelf.

Payments and collection
