The 8 Best Booking App Builders in 2026, Compared
Eight ways to build a booking app in 2026: Mythex, SimplyBook.me, Square, Acuity, Cal.com, Durable, Lovable and Bubble, with October 2026 prices.

The best booking app builder depends on how ordinary your bookings are. If you book people by the hour, such as a stylist, a therapist or a tutor, booking software like SimplyBook.me, Square Appointments or Acuity Scheduling gives you a polished booking page the same day, and Cal.com does the same for meetings. If your bookings have rules those tools can't express, such as rooms, boats, equipment, multi-day rentals or custom pricing, build your own with an AI app builder such as Mythex or Lovable, or visually with Bubble.
Below is a quick table, then a section on each tool: what it is, where it's strong, where it falls short, what it costs as of October 2026, and who should pick it.
The quick comparison
| Tool | Best for | Starting price (as of October 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Mythex | A custom booking app built by chatting, with your own rules and database | Free; Pro $25/mo |
| SimplyBook.me | Feature-rich booking pages and a branded client app | Free (50 bookings/mo); Basic €11.90/mo billed annually |
| Square Appointments | Service businesses that take card payments | Free for solo professionals; paid plans per location |
| Acuity Scheduling | Coaches, wellness and beauty businesses with packages and intake forms | Starter $16/mo billed annually |
| Cal.com | Meeting bookings, with an open-source and self-hosted option | Free for 1 user; Teams $12/user/mo billed yearly |
| Durable | A small-business website with booking built in | Free; Launch $25/mo |
| Lovable | A guided custom booking app with login built in | Free; Pro from $25/mo |
| Bubble | Visual building of complex booking logic, web and native | Free; Starter $59/mo billed annually |
Prices change often, and several vendors show annual prices by default. SimplyBook.me lists prices in euros. Check each pricing page before you buy.
Booking software or a booking app builder?
These are two different kinds of tool, and picking the right kind matters more than picking the right brand.
Booking software (SimplyBook.me, Square Appointments, Acuity, Cal.com) is a finished product. You add your services, staff and hours, and you get a booking page, reminders and payments. It's fast and reliable, and it handles the hard parts like time zones, calendar sync and no-show fees for you. The catch is that you get its model of a booking: a person, a service and a time slot.
A booking app builder (Mythex, Lovable, Bubble) lets you build the booking flow yourself. That's more work, but it fits things booking software doesn't:
- Booking things, not just people. Rooms, desks, courts, vehicles, boats, equipment.
- Multi-day or overnight stays. Glamping sites, rentals, guest houses.
- Custom pricing. Prices by season, by group size, by member status or by customer.
- Booking as part of a bigger app. An intake form, a quote, a client portal or a CRM around the booking.
If you're not sure, start with booking software. Our guide to the best booking software for small business compares more options. Build when you keep hitting the same wall.
1. Mythex: best for a custom booking app built by chatting, with your own rules and database
What it is. Mythex (that's us) is an AI app builder made in Dubai, UAE. You describe the booking app in chat, in English, Arabic or more than 60 other languages, and it writes the code (React, TypeScript and Tailwind by default), runs a live preview in a private cloud workspace with a code editor, file tree and terminal, adds a Postgres database and file storage when needed, and publishes it to a URL or your own domain. Checkpoints let you roll back a change that went the wrong way.
What it's good at. Booking flows with your own rules. You can describe services with durations and prices, rooms or equipment with capacity, opening hours, a request form, and an admin list of incoming bookings, then refine it turn by turn. For deposits or full payment, you add your own Stripe keys as project secrets and the agent builds a Stripe Checkout flow; you test it with Stripe's test cards in the preview before you publish. Confirmation emails go through a provider you choose, such as Resend or SendGrid, with your own key (how). Mythex handles Arabic and right-to-left booking pages well, including bilingual Arabic and English sites. On Pro it can also turn the booking app into Android and iPhone apps by wrapping the web app with Capacitor, with Android builds as a file or sent to Google Play internal testing and iPhone builds sent to TestFlight with your App Store Connect key.
Limits. Mythex's own booking page guide is clear about this: there is no built-in calendar, SMS reminders or deposits product. Calendar sync with Google Calendar or Calendly goes through their APIs and is something you ask for and test. Time zones and double-booking rules are something you specify; don't assume they appear by themselves. If customers need accounts, the agent builds sign-up and login with your database or a provider you pick (how). There is no drag-and-drop editor.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free gives 5 credits a day (up to 30 a month) and publishes up to 3 apps with a small "Built with Mythex" badge. Pro is $25/month or $250/year and adds code editing, export, GitHub sync, custom domains, mobile app builds and no badge. Business starts at $50/month and Enterprise at $680/month. There are no per-seat fees, and Mythex takes no cut of bookings; Stripe charges its own processing fees. See pricing.
Who should pick it. Businesses whose bookings don't fit a person-and-a-time-slot model, or where booking is part of a bigger app, and who want to own the code. Start from the meeting booker, barbershop booking website or glamping booking site template, or see the booking app builder page.
2. SimplyBook.me: best for feature-rich booking pages and a branded client app
What it is. SimplyBook.me is online booking software for service businesses. Every plan includes a custom booking website and an admin app, and higher plans add a branded client app.
What it's good at. A long list of booking features without building anything: services and providers, a booking website, an admin app for staff, and on Standard and above, a client app with your branding. It's one of the quickest ways to get a booking site and an app in your customers' hands.
Limits. Plans cap bookings and providers per month (50 bookings and 1 provider on Free; 100 and 5 on Basic; 500 and 15 on Standard as of October 2026). Prices are listed in euros, and some add-ons, such as SMS packs, are sold separately. Your booking flow follows SimplyBook.me's model.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free (50 bookings a month, 1 provider). Basic €11.90/month billed annually (€13.90 monthly), Standard €24.90 (€29.90), Premium €49.90 (€59.90), and Enterprise on request. See SimplyBook.me pricing.
Who should pick it. Service businesses that want a booking site and a branded app without building either.
3. Square Appointments: best for service businesses that take card payments
What it is. Square Appointments is Square's booking software for salons, spas, studios and other service businesses, tied to Square's card payments and point of sale.
What it's good at. Its free plan for solo professionals includes an online booking site, appointment reminders and staff calendars, as of October 2026. Paid plans add cancellation policies and no-show fees, multi-staff booking, waitlists, and, on Premium, resource management. If you already take card payments with Square, booking and payment live in one place.
Limits. Card processing fees apply on top of any plan, and they can matter more than the subscription. It's built around Square's ecosystem, and the booking model is staff and services rather than anything custom.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free for solo professionals, then Plus and Premium priced per location per month, and Square Pro by quote for businesses processing over $250,000 a year. The page didn't show us the paid plan prices in text, so check Square Appointments pricing for your country.
Who should pick it. Salons and studios that want free booking tied to card payments.
4. Acuity Scheduling: best for coaches, wellness and beauty businesses with packages and intake forms
What it is. Acuity Scheduling, owned by Squarespace, is booking software for service businesses such as coaching, wellness, beauty, fitness and tutoring.
What it's good at. Payments through Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo, custom intake forms and automatic time zone conversion on every plan. Standard adds text reminders, a waitlist, memberships, packages and gift certificates. Premium adds an AI booking assistant, a HIPAA business associate agreement, custom API and CSS, and hides the Acuity logo.
Limits. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial. Plans are priced by number of calendars (1 on Starter, up to 6 on Standard, up to 36 on Premium as of October 2026).
Pricing as of October 2026. Starter $16/month billed annually ($20 monthly), Standard $27 ($34), Premium $55 ($69). See Acuity Scheduling.
Who should pick it. Coaches and wellness or beauty businesses that sell packages and need intake details before the first session.
5. Cal.com: best for meeting bookings, with an open-source and self-hosted option
What it is. Cal.com is a scheduling platform for meetings, with hosted plans, a self-hosted option and links to its open-source code on GitHub.
What it's good at. A generous free plan for one person: unlimited event types and calendars, email and SMS notifications, Stripe and PayPal payments, and Salesforce and HubSpot sync, as of October 2026. Teams adds round-robin, routing forms and branding removal. Its pricing page also links to an API and to "Atoms" for building scheduling into your own product, and webhooks send booking data to your systems.
Limits. It's built for meetings rather than services with staff rotas, rooms or deposits. Teams and Organizations are priced per user, and the page lists yearly prices only. Self-hosting means you run the server, database and updates.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free for 1 user, Teams $12 per user a month billed yearly, Organizations $28 per user a month billed yearly, and Enterprise custom. See Cal.com pricing.
Who should pick it. Consultants, sales teams and developers who want meeting booking, or want to embed scheduling in their own app. Compare it in Calendly vs Cal.com.
6. Durable: best for a small-business website with booking built in
What it is. Durable is an AI website builder for small businesses. As of October 2026 its paid plans include a website, SEO tools, a built-in CRM and 24/7 online booking.
What it's good at. If what you really need is a website for a local business that also takes bookings, Durable bundles both, with a custom domain on paid plans. Setup is quick and aimed at owners rather than developers.
Limits. The booking feature is one part of a website product, so don't expect the depth of dedicated booking software or the flexibility of building your own. The free plan is a preview with limited AI credits.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free, Launch $25/month ($22 on yearly billing, which Durable says saves 15%), and Grow $49/month ($41 yearly). See Durable pricing.
Who should pick it. Sole traders and small local businesses that want a site and simple booking from one subscription.
7. Lovable: best for a guided custom booking app with login built in
What it is. Lovable is an AI platform for building full-stack web apps by chatting. Its Lovable Cloud backend provides a database, storage, authentication and server functions.
What it's good at. A custom booking app where customers log in to see and change their bookings, without setting up a separate auth service. You can select elements in the preview and edit them directly, which helps with calendar and slot-picker layouts. Plans are priced by credits, with unlimited workspace members.
Limits. Code editing, custom domains and removing the Lovable badge are paid features. Like any custom build, reminders, calendar sync and double-booking rules are yours to specify and test. It builds web apps only.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Pro starts at $25/month and Business at $50/month. See Lovable's plans.
Who should pick it. Non-technical founders building a booking product, not just a booking page, who want login included. More in Mythex vs Lovable.
8. Bubble: best for visual building of complex booking logic, on web and native
What it is. Bubble is a long-running no-code platform that pairs AI prompting with a visual editor for design, workflows and data. It builds web apps and native iOS and Android apps, with hosting included.
What it's good at. Complex booking marketplaces and multi-sided apps, where hosts list rooms or services and guests book them, with the logic controlled visually rather than in code. Web and native phone apps come from the same platform.
Limits. Bubble's docs say apps run only on Bubble and can't be exported as code. Usage is metered in workload units, and the learning curve is real. Deploying a live mobile app needs a paid plan.
Pricing as of October 2026. Free with 50K workload units a month. Billed annually, Starter is $59/month, Growth $209/month and Team $549/month. See Bubble pricing.
Who should pick it. People building a booking marketplace who never want to see code and will learn a visual programming model. More in Mythex vs Bubble.
How we compared
This is a comparison of publicly stated features and pricing, not a hands-on benchmark. In October 2026 we read each vendor's own pricing page and documentation and compared the tools on:
- Booking model — staff and services, meetings, or anything you define
- Payments — built in, through a partner, or bring-your-own
- Reminders and calendar sync — included, on a higher plan, or something you build
- Mobile — a booking web page, a branded client app, or a native app
- Ownership — whether you can change the flow and keep the code
- Pricing — free plan limits, entry price, and whether it's per user, per location or flat
We didn't run test bookings or time the setup. Where a vendor's page didn't show something, like Square's paid prices in text, we said so rather than guessing. Mythex is our product; we listed it first because this is our site, and we've described its limits as plainly as anyone else's.
Which one should you choose?
Pick by your situation:
- You book people for meetings and calls. Cal.com, or Calendly; see Calendly alternatives.
- You run a salon, spa or studio and take card payments. Square Appointments.
- You want a booking site and a branded client app without building. SimplyBook.me.
- You sell coaching or wellness packages with intake forms. Acuity Scheduling.
- You need a small-business website that also takes bookings. Durable.
- You book rooms, equipment or stays, or your pricing has rules. Build it: Mythex if you want the code and a Postgres database in one workspace, Lovable if you want login built in and on-page editing, Bubble if you prefer visual logic.
- Your booking site needs Arabic or a right-to-left layout. Mythex.
If you build, keep the first version small, as Mythex's own docs suggest: a list of three to six services, a request form, a database and an admin list of bookings with a "we'll confirm by email" message. Get real bookings through it, then add live availability, payments and reminders one at a time.
Building a booking app with Mythex
If Mythex fits, start from a template and change it in chat. The meeting booker, office desk booking, barbershop booking website and glamping booking site templates cover very different booking models, and there are about 200 more at /templates. The booking app builder page has example prompts, and how to build a booking app walks through features, payments and going live. For stays, see how to build a hotel booking website.
Questions
What is the best booking app builder?
It depends on how standard your bookings are. For a salon, clinic or studio that books staff by the hour, booking software such as SimplyBook.me, Square Appointments or Acuity gives you a working booking page in an afternoon. For bookings with unusual rules, such as rooms, equipment, multi-day rentals or custom pricing, an AI app builder such as Mythex, Lovable or Bubble lets you build exactly the flow you need.
Can I build a booking app for free?
Yes, to start. As of October 2026 SimplyBook.me, Square Appointments, Cal.com, Durable, Lovable, Bubble and Mythex all have free plans with limits. A custom booking app on a free plan is fine for testing; you will usually need a paid plan for a custom domain, more bookings or no branding.
Do booking app builders take payments and deposits?
Most booking software does: Square Appointments, Acuity, SimplyBook.me and Cal.com all list payments as of October 2026. With an AI app builder you connect your own payment provider; in Mythex, for example, you add your own Stripe keys and the agent builds a Stripe Checkout flow for deposits or full payment.
Can a booking app sync with Google Calendar?
Booking software usually includes calendar sync, though some free plans leave it out. A custom-built booking app can connect to Google Calendar or Calendly through their APIs, but you have to ask for it, set it up and test it, including time zones and double-booking rules.
