Client Portal for Cybersecurity Consultancies: Reports, Findings and Retests
A cybersecurity client portal replaces emailed PDF reports with a private login where each client sees its engagements, downloads reports and tracks every finding until it is retested. Mythex builds it from a description, with per-company access, private file storage and a staff view across all clients.
Who it's for
Security consultancies and freelance testers who send reports as password-protected attachments and then track remediation in a spreadsheet nobody on the client side ever opens.
What you can build
- Invite-only logins, each tied to one client company
- Engagement pages with scope, test window, signed authorisation and report download
- Findings with severity, affected asset, recommendation and status
- A retest request button on each fixed finding
- Client users updating remediation status and adding notes
- A consultant view across all clients with open criticals at the top
What a pentest client portal has to hold
An engagement has three phases and the portal should carry all of them. Before testing: the scope, rules of engagement and the client's signed authorisation. After testing: the report and the findings, each with severity, the affected host or URL, evidence and a recommendation. Then remediation: status updates from the client, retest requests and your retest results. Keeping those together answers the auditor's question 'what was found and when was it fixed?' in one screen.
- Scope and authorisation per engagement
- Report files in private storage
- Findings with status history
- Retest dates and outcomes
Access rules that match the sensitivity
A findings list tells an attacker where to look, so access should be tight. Use invite-only accounts with no public sign-up, scope every user to one client company, and limit report downloads to named people. Give consultants access only to their engagements unless they are leads. Ask Mythex to record who downloaded each report and when. Mythex holds no security certification itself, so describe your own controls to clients honestly.
Mistakes to avoid
Don't let a finding be marked closed by the client alone; 'fixed' and 'retested' should be different statuses, and only your team sets the second. Don't merge findings from different engagements into one list without the engagement name, or year-two retests get confusing. And don't send report links by email that work without a login.
- Separate 'fixed' from 'retested'
- Findings always tied to an engagement
- No login-free report links
What to load first
Create one client, one recent engagement and its findings imported from CSV. Invite the client's technical contact, have them update a couple of statuses, and adjust fields to fit. Then add your other active clients.
A prompt to start from
Build a client portal for my cybersecurity consultancy. Clients log in by invitation only and see just their company's engagements: scope, test window, signed authorisation and report downloads from private storage. Each finding has severity, affected asset, recommendation and a status (open, in progress, fixed, retested); clients can set up to 'fixed' and request a retest, and only our team marks 'retested'. Add a staff view of open criticals across all clients.
Questions
How does login work?
Users get accounts by invitation, and each account is tied to one client company. Public sign-up can be switched off entirely.
Can clients only see their own findings?
Yes. Records are filtered by company in the database, so a user from one client never sees another client's engagements, findings or reports.
Can I upload reports and evidence securely?
Files go to your project's private storage and are served only to logged-in users with access to that engagement. Ask Mythex to log downloads if you want an audit trail.
Can I import findings from my reporting tool?
If your tool exports CSV or JSON, Mythex can build an import that maps its fields to the portal's findings. Start with one report to check the mapping.
Do I need to code, and what does it cost?
No coding is needed. The Free plan needs no card and includes daily credits; Pro is $25 a month for code editing, export, GitHub and a custom domain.
