Read pickup every morning

Pickup is the number of rooms booked for future dates in the last few days. When a date fills unusually fast, there is probably an event you did not know about, and room to raise the rate. When a date two weeks out is slow, that is the moment to run an offer, not the day before.

Channel mix and what it costs

Record each booking's source and the commission rate per channel. The dashboard can show revenue by channel and commission paid each month, which is the clearest argument for investing in your own website and direct booking perks.

Getting the data in

Many hotels start with a daily CSV export from the property management system, uploaded each morning. If your PMS offers an API, it can be connected later with your own credentials. Either way the dashboard runs on your numbers, not estimates.

Mistakes to avoid

Do not mix out-of-order rooms into available rooms; it flatters occupancy. Do not compare a Tuesday with a Saturday; compare like days. And keep F&B and events separate so a big wedding does not hide weak rooms revenue.
