Build a Tyre Inventory App with AI
Tyre inventory software has to answer 'have we got a 225/45 R17 94W?' in seconds, and say which rack it is on. Describe how your stock is organised and Mythex builds an inventory app with size search, rack locations, reservations for bookings, date codes and reorder levels.
Who it's for
Tyre shops that check stock by walking into the back, find old tyres at the bottom of a pile, and sell a reserved set to a walk-in by mistake.
What you can build
- Stock by size, brand, pattern, load index and speed rating
- Season type: summer, winter, all-season
- Rack and bay location for each line
- DOT date codes with oldest-first flags
- Reservations held for upcoming bookings
- Reorder levels on your fastest-selling sizes
Record the rack as tyres arrive
The single most useful field is the location. When the distributor delivers, scan or type each line into the app with its rack and shelf. A phone enquiry then takes a search and a glance, not a walk, and new staff can find stock on their first day. Ask for a simple goods-in screen that works on a phone at the delivery door.
- Goods-in screen on a phone
- Rack, shelf and quantity per line
- Moves recorded when stock is relocated
Date codes and stock rotation
Every tyre carries a DOT date code showing the week and year it was made. Record it, sort stock oldest first, and flag tyres beyond the age you are comfortable selling. Customers increasingly check, and selling older stock first stops it ageing on the rack.
Reserve tyres for bookings
When a customer books a fitting for Thursday, the four tyres they need should leave the available count straight away. Reserved stock shows separately, is released if the booking is cancelled, and is deducted when the job is marked fitted.
Stock the sizes your area actually needs
A small number of sizes usually covers most cars in a given area. Report sales by size over the last few months, set higher reorder levels on the top ones, and keep slow sizes on order-in. That is how you offer same-day fitting without filling the back with tyres nobody asks for.
A prompt to start from
Build a tyre inventory app for my shop. Track each tyre line by size, brand, pattern, load index, speed rating, season, DOT date code, rack location and quantity. Add a phone-friendly goods-in screen, reservations tied to fitting bookings that release on cancellation, an oldest-first flag for tyres over three years old, reorder levels per size, and a report of the 20 best-selling sizes.
Questions
Can it track tyres by rack location?
Yes. Each stock line has a rack and shelf, and moves are recorded when you relocate stock.
Can I track DOT date codes?
Yes. Ask for a date code field and an oldest-first sort, plus a flag for tyres above an age you choose.
Can it connect to my distributor's ordering system?
Only if the distributor offers an API you have access to; then you can ask Mythex to connect it. Otherwise you record deliveries on the goods-in screen.
Can staff use it on a phone?
Yes. Published apps work in a phone browser, and on Pro you can also get Android and iPhone apps that open your published app.
Is it free?
The Free plan needs no credit card and gives daily credits, enough to build and publish a first version. Pro is $25/month.
