Bolt vs Replit: Which AI Builder Fits Your Project?
Bolt vs Replit compared on how you build, backend, hosting, mobile apps, languages, team pricing and code access as of October 2026, and who each suits.

Pick Bolt if you want the quickest path from a prompt to a running JavaScript web or mobile app, with hosting, a database and sign-in included, and you don't need much beyond that. Pick Replit if your project needs more than a web app: a Python backend, a scheduled job, an always-on server or a bot, with a full cloud IDE when you want one. Bolt is the simpler tool; Replit runs more kinds of software.
The rest of this guide goes through how each one works, where they differ, and what they cost as of October 2026.
How we compared
This is a comparison of publicly stated features and pricing, based on each vendor's own pricing page and documentation in October 2026. We didn't run speed tests or rate code quality. The criteria:
- How you build — chat, preview and code, and how much of a developer environment you see
- Backend — database, sign-in, storage and hosting
- What it can run — languages, servers, scheduled jobs
- Mobile — web only, or native apps and store publishing
- Ownership — code access, GitHub and export
- Pricing — free tier, first paid tier, team pricing, and how usage is metered

Bolt
How it feels. Bolt, from StackBlitz, runs the development environment inside your browser tab, so a first preview appears quickly and you can watch the code being written. Its help center recommends building one feature per prompt, planning first, and restoring an earlier version from version history when a change goes wrong. You can download a copy of your project and connect GitHub, Figma, Supabase, Stripe and Netlify through integrations.
Backend. Bolt Cloud is the backend and hosting built into Bolt. Every project can have a built-in database with tables, authentication (email and Google sign-in), file storage and server functions, and Bolt scans the database for security issues such as a missing row-level security policy. On Pro and Teams you can use Supabase instead. Publishing puts the project on a free bolt.host address; custom domains need a paid plan. Bolt's docs note that if a site reaches its plan's hosting limit, it stops displaying publicly until usage resets at the next billing cycle.
Mobile. Bolt builds mobile apps with Expo, which uses one codebase for iPhone and Android. Its docs say to mention "mobile app" in your first prompt, because projects created for the web don't easily switch over, and describe publishing to TestFlight and the App Store, and to Google Play testing and the Play Store. You need your own Apple and Google developer accounts.
Pricing as of October 2026.
- Free: $0, 1M tokens a month with a 300K daily limit, 333K web requests a month, Bolt branding on sites, no custom domain.
- Pro: $25/month, 10M tokens with rollover, no daily limit, 1M web requests, custom domains, no branding, connectors and MCP.
- Teams: $30 per member a month, tokens per member, centralized billing, access management and SSO.
- Enterprise: custom.
Watch for. Tokens are used per change, and larger projects use more per change, so a long project costs more than a short one at the same plan. Backends stay in the JavaScript world. The pricing page we read didn't list yearly prices.
Replit
How it feels. Replit is a cloud development environment with an AI Agent. You describe the app and the Agent builds it, and the full IDE, with files, a shell and logs, is always one click away. Paid plans add Plan mode, and Pro adds up to 10 parallel agents.
Backend. Replit lists built-in authentication, a database, storage, hosting and monitoring. Because it's a general cloud machine, it can run a Python or Node backend, a bot, a long-running server or a scheduled job, not just a web front end. Pro includes database rollback up to 28 days.
Mobile. Replit's docs say the Agent uses Expo to build mobile apps, which you can preview with Expo Go on a real phone or in the editor's iOS simulator and Android emulator. You can prepare builds for TestFlight and App Store submission without local iOS tools, with an Apple Developer Program membership. As of October 2026 its docs say publishing to Google Play is not yet supported.
Pricing as of October 2026.
- Starter: free, with daily Agent credits and monthly cloud credits. Replit's docs say Starter builds are "Lite" only and you get one published app, which goes offline after 30 days and shows a "Made with Replit" badge.
- Core: $20/month ($18 billed annually), including $20 of usage toward more powerful models.
- Pro: $100/month ($90 billed annually), $100 of credits, up to 15 collaborators and 50 viewers, 10 parallel agents, premium support. The page also shows higher Pro tiers.
- Enterprise: custom, with SSO, SCIM and audit logs.
Watch for. Agent work, published apps, databases and storage are metered, so the plan price is a floor rather than a ceiling. The IDE can feel like a lot if you've never written code.
Bolt vs Replit, head to head
Speed to a first preview. Bolt is built for this: the runtime is your browser tab and the chat is front and centre. Replit's Agent is also quick, but there's more around it.
What you can run. Replit wins clearly. If you need a scheduled task, a webhook worker, a Python backend or a server that's always on, Replit runs it. Bolt is for JavaScript web and mobile apps.
Backend. Both include a database, sign-in and hosting. Bolt documents more of the details in one place: email and Google sign-in, file storage, server functions and a database security scan. Replit's backend is broader because the machine underneath is general-purpose.
Mobile. Both use Expo. Bolt's docs cover both stores; Replit's cover the App Store but not yet Google Play.
Teams. Bolt Teams is per member at $30 a month, with SSO. Replit Pro is a flat $100 a month for up to 15 collaborators, which is cheaper per head for a larger group; SSO is on Enterprise.
Price for one person. Replit Core is $5 a month cheaper than Bolt Pro on paper. Both meter usage, so how much you build matters more than the sticker price.

Where Mythex fits
Mythex is our product, so treat this section accordingly. It's an AI app builder made in Dubai, UAE, and it sits between the two. Like Bolt, it's chat-first and aimed at people who may never open the code. Like Replit, it runs in a private cloud workspace with a code editor, file tree and terminal, and it can build more than a front end: you can ask for Next.js, a static site, or a Python, Node, C# or Java API. It adds a dedicated Postgres database and file storage when needed, works in English, Arabic or 60+ other languages, and publishes to a URL, or a custom domain on Pro.
The trade-offs, honestly: Mythex doesn't have Bolt's in-browser speed or Replit's breadth of deployment types and languages. There's no managed login product: the agent builds sign-up and login with your database or a provider you choose (how), and payments use your own Stripe keys (how). Its Android and iPhone apps, on Pro, wrap your web app with Capacitor rather than building native screens with Expo; Android builds go out as a file or to Google Play internal testing, and iPhone builds to TestFlight.
As of October 2026 Mythex Free gives 5 credits a day (up to 30 a month) and publishes with a small "Built with Mythex" badge; Pro is $25/month or $250/year with code editing, export and GitHub sync, Business starts at $50/month, and there are no per-seat fees. See pricing. The detailed comparisons are at Mythex vs Bolt and Mythex vs Replit.
Before you choose
Build the same small thing in both free tiers: a form that saves to a database, a list with a detail view, and a sign-in. Then ask for one change that touches several screens. Publish it, open it on your phone signed out, and check how many tokens or credits it used. On Replit, also try the one thing Bolt can't do that you think you'll need, such as a scheduled job. If you don't need it, Bolt's simplicity is probably worth more.

Questions
What is the main difference between Bolt and Replit?
Bolt is an AI builder that runs in your browser tab and focuses on getting a JavaScript web or mobile app running fast, with Bolt Cloud for hosting, a database and sign-in. Replit is a full cloud development environment with an AI Agent, many languages and several deployment types, including always-on servers and scheduled jobs. Bolt is simpler; Replit can run more kinds of software.
Is Bolt or Replit cheaper?
As of October 2026 Replit Core is $20 a month ($18 billed annually) and Bolt Pro is $25 a month. Both meter usage on top: Bolt in tokens, Replit in usage credits for the Agent, published apps, databases and storage. For teams, Bolt is $30 per member a month; Replit Pro is $100 a month ($90 billed annually) with up to 15 collaborators.
Can Bolt or Replit publish to the App Store?
Both build mobile apps with Expo. Bolt's docs describe publishing to TestFlight and the App Store, and to Google Play testing and the Play Store. Replit's docs describe preparing builds for TestFlight and App Store submission, but say publishing to Google Play is not yet supported. An Apple Developer Program membership is needed for the App Store in both.
Which is better for beginners, Bolt or Replit?
Bolt is usually easier for beginners: the chat and preview are front and centre, and there is less to configure. Replit's Agent also works for non-developers, but the full IDE is always there, which some people love and others find a lot. If you expect to need background jobs or a Python backend, Replit is worth the learning curve.
