Terms are not the same length: autumn might have thirteen teaching weeks and summer ten. Store the term dates and half-term breaks, and let the app count each student's lessons from their weekly slot. Parents with two children want one invoice. Group students under a family billing contact, apply the sibling discount you offer, and add bursary percentages for families you support. Keep the billing contact separate from the pickup contact, since they are often different people.

Credits and missed lessons

When the school cancels a lesson, the family is owed one. Record it as a credit and take it off next term's invoice automatically. Lessons missed by the student follow your policy: if you do not refund them, the invoice should say so in its terms, so nobody expects a credit.
