Choose Bubble if you want everything in one place — database, logic, hosting and a web app, with native mobile apps from the same editor — and you don't need the source code. Choose FlutterFlow if mobile is the heart of the product, you want real Flutter code you can download and hand to developers, and you're happy to bring your own backend such as Firebase or Supabase. As of September 2026 FlutterFlow's first paid plan is $39 a month and Bubble's is $59 a month billed annually.

This comparison uses publicly stated features and pricing from Bubble's and FlutterFlow's own sites and documentation in September 2026. We did not build test apps or measure performance. The criteria:

Bubble
What it builds. Bubble is a visual, no-code builder for web apps with user accounts, data and workflows. Bubble says you can build true native iOS and Android apps from the same editor as your web app, sharing one backend, and publish directly to the App Store and Google Play. That makes it strong when the web app and the mobile app are the same product.
Backend. Bubble includes its database, logic and hosting, so there is no separate backend account to set up or pay for. The cost of that server work shows up in workload units, Bubble's measure of how much work your app does.
AI. Bubble AI generates a full app from a description that you can then understand and edit visually, and an Agent can add features, troubleshoot and explain your app step by step.
Ownership. Bubble's manual says apps can only run on Bubble and can't be exported as code. You can export data as CSV or through the API. If you ever need to leave, you rebuild.

FlutterFlow
What it builds. FlutterFlow describes itself as a visual development environment for building mobile, web and desktop apps. You build screens from pre-designed UI elements, add logic in a visual Action Flow Editor, and test in Test Mode. Its docs confirm the output is Flutter code, and you can add custom actions and widgets when the visual tools aren't enough.
Backend. FlutterFlow connects to a backend rather than bundling one. It lists Firebase and Supabase integrations, supports any third-party API or your own REST backend, and has built-in integrations for payments and maps. You set up and pay for the backend service yourself.
Mobile and publishing. FlutterFlow says you can deploy to the App Store, Play Store and the web in a few clicks. From the Basic plan you can download an APK and use one-click app store deployment, and publish the web version on a custom domain.
Ownership. "Export your code with the click of a button. No vendor lock-in," says FlutterFlow. Code download starts on Basic, GitHub integration on Growth, and CLI access on Business.

Watch for. Your total cost includes the backend (for example Firebase or Supabase) and the Apple and Google developer accounts needed to publish.

- FlutterFlow wins on mobile focus, code ownership and a path to a developer-maintained Flutter codebase.
When a web app is enough

If a web app is enough, an AI app builder is another route. Mythex builds web apps from a chat description: the agent writes the code (React and TypeScript by default), each project can get a dedicated Postgres database and file storage, and you publish to yourname.mythex.ai or your own domain on Pro. - Decide whether you truly need the app stores. It changes the whole shortlist.
- Add up the full monthly cost: builder plan, backend, developer accounts and extra seats.
- Decide how much lock-in you accept. FlutterFlow gives you code; Bubble gives you data.

Is Bubble or FlutterFlow better for mobile apps?
Both build native iOS and Android apps as of September 2026. FlutterFlow generates Flutter code for mobile, web and desktop that you can download; Bubble builds native apps from the same editor as your web app with a shared backend. If mobile is the main product and you want the code, FlutterFlow is the more natural fit.
Can I export code from Bubble or FlutterFlow?
FlutterFlow lets you download your project's source code from the Basic plan ($39 a month) and push to GitHub from Growth. Bubble says its apps can only run on Bubble and can't be exported as code, though you can export your data.
Does FlutterFlow include a database?
FlutterFlow connects to a backend rather than being one: it lists Firebase and Supabase integrations and supports any REST API. Bubble includes its own database and hosting, so there is less to set up.
Which is cheaper, Bubble or FlutterFlow?
