FlutterFlow Alternatives: 5 Options Compared for Mobile and Web Apps
The best FlutterFlow alternatives compared: Bubble, Adalo, Draftbit, Flutter itself and an AI app builder. Pricing as of September 2026 and who each suits.
Mythex Team · · 7 min read
The main alternatives to FlutterFlow are Bubble (web and native apps with the backend and hosting built in), Adalo (a simpler visual builder for database-driven iOS, Android and web apps), Draftbit (a visual mobile builder with code export and AI agents), Flutter itself (the free, open-source framework FlutterFlow generates code for), and, if a web app is enough, an AI app builder such as Mythex. Which one fits depends on why you're looking: price, the backend, code ownership, or wanting less to learn.

Why people look for FlutterFlow alternatives
FlutterFlow is a strong tool. As of September 2026 it lets you build for iOS, Android and the web, add custom code, connect Firebase or Supabase, and, on paid plans, download the Flutter source. The usual reasons people look elsewhere are:
- You have to bring the backend. FlutterFlow is the front end. Your database and auth live in Firebase, Supabase or your own API, which is another service to set up and pay for.
- The learning curve. It's visual, but you still think in widgets, state and actions. Non-developers can find that a lot.
- Price for small teams. Collaboration and GitHub integration start on Growth, which is priced per seat.
- You only need a web app. If nobody needs to download your app from a store, there are simpler ways to ship.
How we compared
We compared publicly stated features, plans and prices on each vendor's own website and pricing page as of September 2026. We did not do hands-on testing or build the same app in each tool, and we left out any claim we couldn't confirm on the vendor's own site. For Mythex, facts come from our own documentation.
FlutterFlow (for reference)
FlutterFlow describes itself as a way to build high-quality, customized apps quickly, with deployment to the App Store, Play Store and the web.
Pricing as of September 2026 (monthly billing; FlutterFlow says annual billing saves about 25%):
- Free — $0: 2 projects, web publishing, 5 lifetime AI requests, no code download.
- Basic — $39/month: unlimited projects, code and APK download, custom domain web publishing, 50 AI requests a month.
- Growth — $80/month for the first seat and $55 for the second: GitHub integration, up to 2 collaborators, 200 AI requests a month.
- Business — $150/month for the first seat and $85 for seats 2–5: up to 5 collaborators, 500 AI requests a month.
Firebase and Supabase integrations are available on all plans.
Bubble
Bubble is a visual builder that includes the database, logic and hosting. As of September 2026 it builds web apps and native iOS and Android apps from the same editor, with a shared backend. Bubble says its native apps run on React Native.
Pricing as of September 2026 (billed annually):
- Free — $0: development only, 50K workload units a month, 1 editor.
- Starter — $59/month: live app, custom domain, 175K workload units, 5 mobile build submissions a month.
- Growth — $209/month: 2 editors, 250K workload units, 10 mobile builds a month.
- Team — $549/month: 5 editors, 500K workload units, 20 mobile builds a month.
Workload units measure how much server work your app does, so your bill tracks usage.
Strengths: everything in one place, so no separate Firebase or Supabase bill; one backend for web and mobile; a large plugin ecosystem.
Limits: you can't export the app's code, so you stay on Bubble. Usage-based billing takes some watching.
Choose Bubble if you want the backend handled for you and don't need to own the source code. Our Bubble vs FlutterFlow guide goes deeper, and Mythex vs Bubble compares it with an AI app builder.
Adalo
Adalo calls itself a visual no-code AI app builder. As of September 2026 its site says you can build database-driven iOS, Android and web apps from one project, with a hosted Postgres database, external data from Airtable, Google Sheets or Xano, and an AI assistant called Ada for prompt-based building.
Pricing as of September 2026 (billed annually; monthly billing costs more):
- Free — $0: unlimited test apps, 500 records per app, no published apps.
- Starter — $36/month ($43.20 monthly): 1 published app, custom domain, App Store and Play Store publishing.
- Professional — $52/month ($62.40 monthly): 2 published apps, 5 editors, custom integrations, push notifications.
- Team — $160/month ($192 monthly): 5 published apps, 10 editors, Xano integration, version history.
Strengths: gentler learning curve than FlutterFlow; database and hosting included; store publishing from the first paid plan.
Limits: less fine-grained control over design and logic than FlutterFlow, and its site doesn't mention code export.
Choose Adalo if you want a simple app with lists, forms and user data, published to the stores, without learning a developer-style tool. See Adalo alternatives for its competitors.
Draftbit
Draftbit says it lets you build, ship and scale native mobile apps with a visual builder, real code access and AI-powered workflows. As of September 2026 its site says you can build for web, iOS and Android, import, edit and export the full code, and work with AI agents; the free plan mentions building with Claude Code and OpenAI Codex.
Pricing as of September 2026:
- Free — $0: code editing, no code export or store publishing.
- Standard — $12/month ($9.60 billed yearly): code export and one-click publishing for iOS, Android and web.
- Pro — $24/month ($19.20 billed yearly): run up to 5 agents at once, App Store submission help.
- Team — $120/month ($96 billed yearly): run up to 10 agents at once.
Strengths: code export at a low entry price; built with AI agents in mind.
Limits: like FlutterFlow, you'll want a backend of your own. Its site describes its standard plan's AI as "included with your own subscription", so budget for that separately.
Choose Draftbit if code ownership is the reason you picked FlutterFlow and you'd like a cheaper, agent-friendly route to the same goal.
Flutter (write the code yourself)
Flutter is the open-source framework FlutterFlow generates code for. Google-backed and free, it builds natively compiled apps for mobile, web, desktop and embedded devices from one codebase.
Strengths: no platform fees, no limits on what you can build, and you own everything. Pair it with an AI coding assistant and you can move quickly.
Limits: it's programming. You set up the tooling, write Dart, handle store submissions and run the backend yourself, or pay someone who can.
Choose Flutter directly if you or your team are developers and FlutterFlow's visual layer was getting in the way. Many teams start in FlutterFlow, export the code, and continue in Flutter.
An AI app builder (if a web app is enough)
Plenty of apps don't need the App Store: booking tools, client portals, internal dashboards, directories. For those, a responsive web app that works well on a phone can ship faster and avoid store review. Native vs progressive web apps explains the trade-off.
Mythex is an AI app builder for that case. You describe the app in chat, an AI agent writes the code (React and TypeScript by default), you see it running in a live preview, and you publish to yourname.mythex.ai. When the app needs data, it gets a dedicated Postgres database. Login, email and payments use your own providers and keys, which the agent wires in.
As of September 2026, Free is $0 with 10 credits a day (up to 30 a month). Pro is $25/month and adds the full code editor, export, GitHub sync and custom domains. See plans in the docs.
Limits, plainly: Mythex builds web apps. Native App Store and Play Store apps are listed as coming soon, so if store distribution is the point, pick one of the tools above.
Which should you choose?
| If you want… | Pick |
|---|---|
| Backend and hosting included, web and native from one editor | Bubble |
| The simplest route to a store-published app | Adalo |
| Code export at the lowest entry price | Draftbit |
| Full control, no platform fees | Flutter |
| A web app built from a description, with a database | An AI app builder such as Mythex |
| Visual control plus downloadable Flutter code | Stay with FlutterFlow |
That last row matters. If your frustration is mainly with Firebase setup, it may be easier to switch the backend to Supabase than to switch tools. And if you're unsure whether you need a visual builder or an AI builder at all, no-code vs AI app builders walks through the difference, and Bubble alternatives covers more options in the same space.
Questions
What is the best alternative to FlutterFlow?
It depends on why you're leaving. Bubble suits people who want the backend and hosting included, Adalo suits simpler database-driven apps, Draftbit suits people who want code export at a lower price, and writing Flutter yourself suits developers. If a web app is enough, an AI app builder is another route.
Is there a free alternative to FlutterFlow?
Flutter itself is an open-source framework and free to use, but you write the code. Bubble, Adalo and Draftbit all have free plans as of September 2026, though none of their free plans let you publish a live store app.
Which FlutterFlow alternative lets me export the code?
As of September 2026, Draftbit lists code export from its Standard plan ($12 a month, or $9.60 billed yearly). Bubble says its apps run only on Bubble, and Adalo's site doesn't mention code export. Writing Flutter directly means you own the code from the start.
Can an AI app builder make a mobile app?
Many AI app builders, including Mythex, build web apps that work well on phones rather than native App Store apps. Mythex lists native store apps as coming soon. If you need to be in the App Store today, use a tool that publishes native builds.
