Build a Trade Customer Portal for Your Manufacturing Business

A manufacturer's customer portal lets trade buyers check their own order status, download batch certificates and approve specifications before a run, without emailing your office. Describe your order stages and documents to Mythex and it builds the portal with logins per company, a real database and private file storage.

Who it's for

Manufacturers whose customer service day is spent answering 'when will it ship?', resending certificates of conformity and searching inboxes for which artwork version a customer approved.

What you can build

  • Open orders with production stage and promised ship date
  • Certificates of conformity and test reports per batch
  • Delivery notes and invoices per shipment
  • Artwork and specification approval before production
  • One-step reorders from previous orders
  • Several users per company with their own roles

Status customers can trust

Show each order line with its stage, such as scheduled, in production, quality check and dispatched, and the promised ship date. Update the stage as work moves, ideally from a screen on the floor. If a date changes, show the new date and a short reason; customers forgive delays they hear about early far more readily than ones they discover.

  • Stage per order line
  • Ship date changes with a reason
  • Floor screen to update stages

Approvals recorded against the exact file

Colour, finish and labelling disputes are the most expensive arguments a manufacturer has. Upload the artwork or specification to the order and require the customer to approve it in the portal before production starts. The approval records who approved, when and which file version, so if a dispute comes up later you can show what was signed off.

Documents in one place

Certificates of conformity, material certificates, test reports and delivery notes attach to the batch they belong to. Buyers and quality teams download them whenever they need, which matters at their audit time. Give each company several users: buyers see orders and prices, quality staff see certificates, accounts see invoices.

  • Documents per batch
  • Roles per customer user
  • Invoice history for accounts

What to set up first

Start with your five largest customers and their open orders. Put stages and ship dates in and invite their buyers. Add certificate uploads next, then artwork approvals for any customer with printed or branded products. Reorders come last, once customers are in the habit of logging in.

A prompt to start from

Make a trade customer portal for my factory. Each customer company has several users with roles (buyer, quality, accounts). Users see open orders with line stage (scheduled, in production, QC, dispatched) and promised ship date, approve artwork or specs before production with the version recorded, download certificates of conformity and delivery notes per batch, see invoices, and reorder from past orders.

Questions

Does each customer see only their own orders?

Yes. Logins are tied to a company, and users see only that company's orders, documents and prices.

Can customers approve artwork in the portal?

Yes. Upload the file to the order and the customer approves or comments; the approval records the person, time and file version.

Can it connect to our ERP?

If your ERP has an API, you can connect it with your own credentials; otherwise import orders by CSV on a schedule.

Do I need to write code?

No. Describe the portal and Mythex builds it, and you change it by chatting. Code editing and export are on Pro if you want them.

How much does it cost?

You can build and publish on the Free plan without a card. Pro costs $25/month and adds a custom domain, code editing and export.
