Auto Repair Shop Dashboard: Technician Efficiency, Approval Rate and Average Invoice

An auto repair shop dashboard shows the few numbers that decide whether the workshop is making money: billed against clocked hours, how often customers approve extra work, average invoice and parts margin. Say which figures you want and Mythex builds the charts, filters and export on your own data.

Who it's for

Garage owners and workshop managers who rebuild the same summary in a spreadsheet each month, or who suspect the ramps are busy but the takings do not match and want to see why.

What you can build

  • Billed hours against clocked hours per technician per week
  • Approval rate for extra work found during inspection
  • Average invoice value by job type
  • Parts margin next to labour revenue
  • Vehicles due for service next month
  • A filterable table of jobs with CSV import and export

Which numbers an auto repair shop should track

Start with billed hours against hours worked. A low ratio rarely means slow technicians; it usually means waiting for parts or for a customer to approve work, and fixing those delays adds capacity without hiring. Next, the approval rate on extra work: if it is low, the way items are presented needs work. Then average invoice by job type and parts margin, which show whether you are pricing labour and parts sensibly.

  • Billed vs clocked hours
  • Approval rate
  • Average invoice by job type
  • Parts margin vs labour

Where the data comes from

The dashboard needs jobs with a type, technician, hours clocked and billed, parts and labour totals, and whether each extra item was approved. If those live in a Mythex job card app, the dashboard reads them directly. If they live in another system, import a CSV export each week. Either way, keep the job types consistent, or the averages mean little.

What to put on it first

Begin with four cards and one chart: this week's billed hours ratio, approval rate, average invoice and total revenue, plus a weekly trend. Load the last three months so the trend means something. Add per-technician views and the parts margin breakdown once the team trusts the numbers, and a list of vehicles due next month so the dashboard also shows future work.

  • Four KPI cards
  • Weekly trend over three months
  • Per-technician view later

Mistakes to avoid

Do not use the dashboard to blame individuals before you know whether delays were caused by parts or approvals. Do not mix warranty jobs into average invoice; they drag it down and hide real pricing. And do not track twenty numbers; a workshop acts on four or five.

A prompt to start from

Build a dashboard for my auto repair shop. Show KPI cards for billed vs clocked hours, approval rate on extra work, average invoice and weekly revenue, a weekly trend chart, a breakdown by job type and technician, and parts margin vs labour revenue. Add a CSV import for my job history, a date filter, export, and exclude warranty jobs from averages.

Questions

Can it use my own data?

Yes. It can read jobs from a Mythex app you build, or you import CSV exports from your current system. The data is stored in your project's own database.

Can the dashboard show technician productivity?

Yes, if technicians clock on and off jobs. Ask for billed hours against worked hours per person, per week.

Can I share it with the team?

Yes. Add staff logins and choose who sees what, for example technicians see their own figures and managers see everything.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. You describe the figures you want and change charts and filters by chatting.

How much does it cost?

Free needs no payment details, and its daily credits stretch to a first build you can publish. Pro, at $25/month, brings more credits, your own domain and editable code.
